The entire path is rarely in sight from the trailhead.
I grew up in Northern British Columbia, where most of my time was spent exploring the mountains and much of my food came directly from the forest, the river, or my grandfather’s garden. Those early experiences shaped my relationship with food, movement, and fresh air, and became the foundation for my belief in simplicity, connection, and the idea that off-roading and pavement can get you to the same destination.
In my early twenties, I discovered strength training, and it changed far more than my physical health. It gave me confidence, community, routine, and a firsthand appreciation for how deeply physical activity can influence the way we think, feel, and experience the world.
I knew that at some point in that decade of my life, I would return to academia. As it turns out, all it took was a few dumbbells to inspire me. When I went back to school, I was convinced medicine was the path. If I'm being completely honest, part of me will probably always be fascinated by cardiothoracic surgery. But the more I moved through the sciences, the more I gravitated toward human physiology, psychology, and behaviour. My interests shifted away from the cardiovascular system alone, and I became increasingly interested in understanding the person as a whole.
Today, my work sits at the intersection of mental health, behaviour change, and physical wellbeing. My background in kinesiology and psychology helps me understand the ways stress, trauma, and emotional experiences can influence the body, while my clinical training provides the counselling skills to help clients make sense of those experiences, regulate their nervous systems and emotional states, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I believe symptoms rarely appear in isolation.
I believe our physical, psychological, and emotional experiences are constantly influencing one another.
And I believe meaningful change is most sustainable when it fits into real life.
Whether we're working through anxiety or depressive symptoms, navigating a major life transition, rebuilding your relationship with your body, or simply trying to understand why you feel the way you do, my goal is to help you make sense of the bigger picture and find approaches that work for you - not just in theory, but in everyday life.
Whether your road is paved or winding, you don't have to navigate it alone.

Health, in context.
